venus hour is an online indie literary journal devoted to curating works and writers that encourage us to see the feminine world in unusual ways.

created in 2023 as a place to showcase feminist speculative fiction, our aim is to publish divine literary work which creates place within the liminal.

consider the hour: not too long, not too short. a reasonable commute for some or a decent episode of an HBO program. a terrible amount of time spent in the drive-thru or the doctor’s office. you can say “wow, it’s already been an hour” in the same day you say “ugh, it’s only been an hour.”

we are especially inclined to work that features feminine or nonbinary narratives, realms, characters, and dreams.

venus hour is also looking to publish essays, art, and multimedia projects on aesthetic qualities that support the journal’s mission. we want our readers to explore the realm of the eternal-feminine through literature and art, even if it's only for an hour.
